Lucies FarmAt Lucies Farm -- in sunny Worcestershire, England -- we raise pedigree Aberdeen Angus and Highland cattle in the traditional Japanese Kobe style to produce quality beef. We also have an elite dog resort, catering to a handful of exclusive dogs. And we make a range of dog food and dog treats -- even haddock ice cream and a doggie birthday cake.

Missy, Ronan and Marjorie Walking in Lord's Wood146 viewsIt's now officially autumn. A glorious, sunny day so Marjorie and I took Missy and Ronan walking in Lord's Wood -- our private, 17 acre woodland. We kept them on the lead because there are sheep in the next field, and while Lord's Wood is fenced, we didn't know if it was Rottweiler-proof.

Lord Rannoch's DNA Test432 viewsOur Swiss customers required Rannoch to have a DNA test, so off we went to pull out some (not much) of his hair. It was important that the roots still be attached. Ever pulled the hair out of a bull? Here are the DNA results from Weatherbys Ireland.

The Truckman on the Transporter244 viewsThe back end of the Truckman after someone collided with it on Crookbarrow Road. We had to abandon it during the rainstorm, and had all sorts of problems getting MMA to recover it. Someone apparently rear-ended the Truckman. Photographed on the transporter at Lucies Farm, as the Truckman heads down the driveway and into the sunset.

The Great January 2004 Storm333 viewsWe'd been warned for several days (including full page newspaper articles) that the Great Storm was coming. And, of course, the weather was beautiful. But the storm finally hit on January 28 2004, and lasted precisely ten minutes. This is our front garden at Whitecroft viewed through the snow.

Sunapee Harbor - New Hampshire4042 viewsWe took the dogs for a Memorial Day drive. In the middle of the countryside we saw a small sign pointing to Sunapee Harbor. Although miles from the sea, we found this lovely "seaside" New England harbor, complete with a seafood restaurant on the water. Gorgeous.May 28, 2012
