| Lucies FarmAt Lucies Farm -- in sunny Worcestershire, England -- we raise pedigree Aberdeen Angus and Highland cattle in the traditional Japanese Kobe style to produce quality beef. We also have an elite dog resort, catering to a handful of exclusive dogs. And we make a range of dog food and dog treats -- even haddock ice cream and a doggie birthday cake. |

Marjorie on the Train from Birmingham to Malvern150 viewsWe worked in Birmingham for a decade and never took the train from Birmingham to home. Here's Marjorie, riding backwards (which she hates), on an extremely crowded mid-day, mid-week train. It was truly awful -- I suspect a train in any third world country would be better. Our first trip from Birmingham to Malvern Link. And our last.

Where the Fence Does a "Z"247 viewsSeptember 23 2006. Zbig stood on top of the Truckman (those are my feet on the left) and took this aerial photograph, looking almost straight down on the fence. I added the yellow line afterwards, to show the approximate location of the fence in the middle of the hedge. It's curious that the fence then goes to the east (into our property), and then continues on down (to the north) down the track to Lord's Wood.

Highland Cow, Her Calf, and Aberdeen Angus885 viewsThe afternoon of March 19, 2005, on our four acre field. The Highland calf was born on Thursday: she's a heifer. She looks like the folks at Steif created her. This is a photo of mother (a pedigree Highland cow), baby, and one of our pedigreed Aberdeen Angus cows. The photo shows the difference between a Highland cow (on the left) and an Aberdeen Angus cow (right).

Sunapee Harbor - New Hampshire4015 viewsWe took the dogs for a Memorial Day drive. In the middle of the countryside we saw a small sign pointing to Sunapee Harbor. Although miles from the sea, we found this lovely "seaside" New England harbor, complete with a seafood restaurant on the water. Gorgeous.May 28, 2012
