| Lucies FarmAt Lucies Farm -- in sunny Worcestershire, England -- we raise pedigree Aberdeen Angus and Highland cattle in the traditional Japanese Kobe style to produce quality beef. We also have an elite dog resort, catering to a handful of exclusive dogs. And we make a range of dog food and dog treats -- even haddock ice cream and a doggie birthday cake. |

Lord's Wood Cottage Soak-Away411 viewsThomas Hawkins installed this underground soak-away in a corner of Lord's Wood for the waste from Lord's Wood Cottage. I understand that they've buried porous stones in a chamber that they've excavated, and then have covered it with a black membrande to keep the soil from entering the chamber. We have our fingers crossed that this will stop the pollution into Lord's Wood.

Arriving in New York City on the QE2 - April 1991156 viewsThis panoramic photograph, taken with a Widelux camera from the top deck of the QE2, is now quite poignant because of the prominence of the two towers of the World Trade Center. We couldn't have imagined when we took this photograph on a warm spring day in April 1991 that just over a decade later both towers would be gone. In November 2008 the QE2 sails to Dubai where she will be permanently moored.

Dinner Time233 viewsWe usually feed the cattle and the pigs separately, in troughs on opposite sides of the field. But today was "photo" day, so we fed them together. And they happily shared their feed.

Sunapee Harbor - New Hampshire4045 viewsWe took the dogs for a Memorial Day drive. In the middle of the countryside we saw a small sign pointing to Sunapee Harbor. Although miles from the sea, we found this lovely "seaside" New England harbor, complete with a seafood restaurant on the water. Gorgeous.May 28, 2012
