| Lucies FarmAt Lucies Farm -- in sunny Worcestershire, England -- we raise pedigree Aberdeen Angus and Highland cattle in the traditional Japanese Kobe style to produce quality beef. We also have an elite dog resort, catering to a handful of exclusive dogs. And we make a range of dog food and dog treats -- even haddock ice cream and a doggie birthday cake. |

An Afternoon in the Countryside - New Hampshire, 1966920 viewsOn Thanksgiving of my freshman year at Rensselaer, my parents came to visit me on the East Coast. We all went to see my father's brother (and my uncle) Dinny Walsh. Here we are --- not exactly looking comfortable in the countryside. Dinny, me, Shauna, and my mother with a New England barn in the background.

Nevsky Prospect - St. Petersburg364 viewsThis is where my wallet was stolen. This is one of the main streets in St. Petersburg, Russia. Marjorie and I were walking up the street (same direction as the girl with the yellow shoulder bag) on a sunny spring afternoon. A large man on a cell phone came out from behind the bus shelter (on the left in this photo) and blocked my path. Others crowded me from behind when I stopped suddenly, and my wallet was gone. The police didn't really care -- this is apparently typical in St. Petersburg.

Severn Bore - 2003339 viewsWe'd lived near the River Severn for a long time and had never seen the Severn Bore. It's a big wave that comes up river usually once each month. Customarily, only two of the annual bores are really big --- and this was one of them. We had breakfast at (where else?) the Severn Bore Pub.

Bromsgrove Cemetery270 viewsMore of the crushed green glass. I personally don't think it looks good when it's new, and as the algae grows on it, I think it just looks worse and worse.

Sunapee Harbor - New Hampshire4051 viewsWe took the dogs for a Memorial Day drive. In the middle of the countryside we saw a small sign pointing to Sunapee Harbor. Although miles from the sea, we found this lovely "seaside" New England harbor, complete with a seafood restaurant on the water. Gorgeous.May 28, 2012
