| Lucies FarmAt Lucies Farm -- in sunny Worcestershire, England -- we raise pedigree Aberdeen Angus and Highland cattle in the traditional Japanese Kobe style to produce quality beef. We also have an elite dog resort, catering to a handful of exclusive dogs. And we make a range of dog food and dog treats -- even haddock ice cream and a doggie birthday cake. |

Garden Path at Kealaolu Avenue, Kahalavu 364 foisNana and my mother, Shirley, examining the flowers on the garden path at Kealaolu Avenue in Kahala. My guess is this is from the mid 1940's. Nana and Baba sold their Kealaolu Avenue house circa 1947, and felt they had enough money to move into a hotel for the rest of their lives. And that's what they did: they moved into the Niumalu Hotel, on the site of the present Hilton Hawaiian Village. That lasted about a year.

Magnolia Blossom - Whitecroftvu 238 foisI love Magnolias. Great, huge, pure white flowers. It's a shame that they seem to fall apart so quickly, so it's hard to bring them in the house for a big floral display. (Unless there's some secret that only Southern belles learn, while drinking juleps.) This magnolia bud is in our large tree, Whitecroft, on a hot summer afternoon.

Sunapee Harbor - New Hampshirevu 4052 foisWe took the dogs for a Memorial Day drive. In the middle of the countryside we saw a small sign pointing to Sunapee Harbor. Although miles from the sea, we found this lovely "seaside" New England harbor, complete with a seafood restaurant on the water. Gorgeous.28 Mai 2012
