Award Winning Chickenvista 421 vecesThe gorgon who yelled at me about taking photos in the poultry tent thought that I would "stress" the birds. I would suggest that putting them in a small cage in a hot tent filled with other unfamiliar chickens and ducks and even turkeys, and then add thousands of people, would stress them more than a 1/100 exposure. Does this guy look stressed?

Award Winning Eggsvista 356 vecesJust after I took this photograph, a gorgon came running up to me to ask if I had permission to take photos. I said "no," but I explained I was a Life Governor of the Society, and had taken photos at the show for years. I said if I needed permission, a simple sign or courteous comment would be appreciated. I'm 56 years old: far too old to be yelled at by petty functionaries guarding eggs.

Crying Highland Calfvista 667 vecesThis is the second time in the past few days I've actually seen a calf cry. I suppose the water is to clear out their eyes (it's very hot, and I'm sure the pollen count is high) --- but it's sure sad to see them crying.
