Lord's Wood Entrance to Bransford Road317 viewsOur car is parked on the triangle of land that's part of the Lord's Wood title deed, and provides access to the Colletts Green to Bransford Road. The plan is to pave or gravel (with compacted gravel) this area in the next few weeks. When we commence woodland operations, the sawmill needs (I'm told) to be able to pick up the cut trees from next to the road, so this will become the staging area for that.

4th of July at Whitecroft141 viewsFor the second year in a row (a tradition?) we put our huge American flag, bought by us just after 9-11, up on the hedge at the front of Whitecroft, along Colletts Green Road. Here's Marjorie posing with Kiko. Note the busy rush-hour traffic. July 4th 2006

Front Garden of Woodman's Cottage247 viewsPhotographed on the morning of September 19 2006 from the western (shared) track owned by Robert Floyd. This shot is to the south-east. The road on the right is the Bransford Road (also called Colletts Green Road and Station Road) heading towards Powick, Worcester, and the great big world.

A Gate in the Pig Fields244 viewsIt's been a bit of a rainy, muddy winter. This field actually has field drains --- we installed them when we purchased the field in the mid-1990's. But the clay soil retains water, and it's rainy and wet here.

Sewage on Colletts Green Road461 viewsHigh rates, undersized sewers. We have complained about this for years, but get the old "budget" story. The sewers were probably fine until the housing estate was built. No increased resources were put into the sewer, so the water bubbles up on Colletts Green Road, and then flows away into the River Severn through the run-off system.

Looking Towards Bransford233 viewsColletts Green Road, looking towards Bransford. The water fountain in the middle of the road is the sewer. It flows from the sewer into the highway drainage, and then down into the River Severn. Fortunately the height of the road keeps it from coming onto our property.

Colletts Green Road363 viewsThe undersized sewers are again not up to the task. The water bubbles up, and then flows from the sewers into the highway run-off system. So sewage is escaping and going down into the River Severn. We have complained about this for 15 or more years, but nobody does anything about it. We installed our own mini sewage treatment plant so we weren't dependent upon the main sewers.
