First Floor Lobby - Andaz Liverpool Street Hotel, London1964 زيارةWhen we returned to the hotel at about 11:30 PM on Sunday, there were no restaurants that were open. We were told room service was the only choice. We didn't want to have dinner in our room, so they suggested the balcony area shown in this photograph, just beneath the dusty palm trees. Up a long flight of stairs --- very difficult for me to climb.

Xenon for Torino - Piazza Castello - Jenny Holzer1899 زيارةTorino has a programme called "Luci d'Artista." Jenny Holzer uses powerful Xenon lights to project "her words with the intention of contrasting ignorance and violence with sweetness and moral courage." The English didn't make much sense to Marjorie and me, but the castle was impressive.

Craig By The Park Sheraton Hotel - Thanksgiving 19661892 زيارةI had a term paper to write --- I was a freshman at Renesselaer --- so I borrowed a typewriter in the hotel's office. They used it for typing telegrams (remember telegrams?) so all of the lower-case letters had been filed off. I had to type my paper ALL IN CAPITAL LETTERS. Note the Horn and Hardart automat on the corner in the background.

Kea in the Jeep1875 زيارةKea loved to leap up into the back of the Jeep (or, before that, the Nissan Prairie) because other dogs couldn't get up there -- and Kea could watch everything that was happening.

Kiko Wearing A Mud Suit1787 زيارةKiko loves to drop his ball in water, and then try to get it. In the house, he puts it under glass shelf at the bottom of an end table. Today he outdid himself: into the little stream that runs through our property. Because it's been dry, the stream is mainly mud. It looks like Kiko is wearing a mud suit.

A Fire Pit in the Bab al Shams Hotel1778 زيارةIt gets cold on the desert at night, so the Bab Al Shams Hotel had this large fire pit that they lit every evening. Marjorie is relaxing on the right, a bit like Rousseau's Sleeping Gypsy.
