Underwater Seafood Restaurant -- Burj al Arab Hotelvu 5398 foisThe view from our table at the underwater seafood restaurant. I don't think we were really underwater, but there was a large tank of salt water fish to keep us entertained as we ate their cousins.

Marjorie and night vision gogglesvu 5164 foisWe purchased these Russian-made night vision goggles at a Photokina show in 1996 or so. They were impossible to wear and to use. Breakfast at the Burj al Arab Hotelvu 5047 foisMarjorie having breakfast. We were surrounded by plants from Hawaii (or from tropical islands) like the naupaka. The poor things were struggling: I suspect the humidity is too low in Dubai, or it's too hot -- or both.
burj-lobby.jpg
Atrium of Burj al Arab Hotelvu 5045 foisPhotographed from the lower lobby, looking up through the fountains and the large gold columns. They love gold in the Burj al Arab!

Burj al Arab Cocktail Loungevu 4916 foisThis colourful cocktail lounge actually sticks out from near the top of the Burj al Arab hotel. So we were actually hundreds of feet above the Arabian Sea.
