| Lucies FarmAt Lucies Farm -- in sunny Worcestershire, England -- we raise pedigree Aberdeen Angus and Highland cattle in the traditional Japanese Kobe style to produce quality beef. We also have an elite dog resort, catering to a handful of exclusive dogs. And we make a range of dog food and dog treats -- even haddock ice cream and a doggie birthday cake. |

Wild Boar in the Mud From Recent Heavy Rains327 viewsDespite the presence of elaborate land drains (installed by us when we purchased this property) it still gets very muddy when we have heavy rains. We are installing hard core on the upper portion of the field so the wild pigs will have a dry area.

Early November sunset172 viewsI was at my desk and Kiko barked (once) at the conservatory door to be let in. I looked over and he was bright red. I thought he'd fallen into some sort of paint, and then I saw he was red from the sunset. I got my camera and my cane and hobbled around the garden taking these photographs. I've lived at Whitecroft since 1989, and it was the most gorgeous sunset I've seen. Thanks, Kiko.

Helicopter Overhead288 viewsTapa started barking the other night, and when he and I looked outdoors, there was a helicopter hovering across the street, pointing its searchlight about. It then went down our track, and away past the back field. I learned the next morning that there had been police cars and dogs chasing someone. The fugitive tried to get over our gate -- but the top is electrified (to keep foxes out). This is a photo of the helicopter.

Kiko's Eyes673 viewsThey say that dogs don't have good eye contact because they think it's a "challenge." Kiko has always had great eye contact, and it's never been in a challenging way. In fact (and is this anthropomorphising?) it seems quite loving and kind.

Sunapee Harbor - New Hampshire4067 viewsWe took the dogs for a Memorial Day drive. In the middle of the countryside we saw a small sign pointing to Sunapee Harbor. Although miles from the sea, we found this lovely "seaside" New England harbor, complete with a seafood restaurant on the water. Gorgeous.May 28, 2012
