| Lucies FarmAt Lucies Farm -- in sunny Worcestershire, England -- we raise pedigree Aberdeen Angus and Highland cattle in the traditional Japanese Kobe style to produce quality beef. We also have an elite dog resort, catering to a handful of exclusive dogs. And we make a range of dog food and dog treats -- even haddock ice cream and a doggie birthday cake. |

Front of Whitecroft, Minus the Lawn - Spring 1991139 viewsAll of the topsoil and turf are piled on the left. These were removed, and the new turf planted directly on the clay --- whereupon it drowned. This work was specified and overseen by Corscadden Associates, a firm of landscape architects who should have known better. Their PI insurance paid for the re-do.

Photographs of Screws from Top Hinges347 viewsThese screws were removed from the top hinges: they connect the hinge to the large gate posts. The screw on the left is from the southern gate post, and measures 1 3/8 inch. The screw on the right is from the northern gate post, and measures 3 1/2 inches. I showed this photograph to Marjorie thinking she'd be surprised. She said that the screws on the right (northern) gate all started to pop out, so Nigel replaced them on the day he came to pick up his cheque.

Belinda - Our House Cow208 viewsBelinda is a Guernsey cow. She's milked, by hand, each day to provide milk for us and for the dog resort. She's heavily pregnant --- due anytime soon --- so the milk has dried up as she puts all of her reserves into her calf.

Sunapee Harbor - New Hampshire4065 viewsWe took the dogs for a Memorial Day drive. In the middle of the countryside we saw a small sign pointing to Sunapee Harbor. Although miles from the sea, we found this lovely "seaside" New England harbor, complete with a seafood restaurant on the water. Gorgeous.May 28, 2012
