| Lucies FarmAt Lucies Farm -- in sunny Worcestershire, England -- we raise pedigree Aberdeen Angus and Highland cattle in the traditional Japanese Kobe style to produce quality beef. We also have an elite dog resort, catering to a handful of exclusive dogs. And we make a range of dog food and dog treats -- even haddock ice cream and a doggie birthday cake. |

Ow, that hurts!280 viewsLord Rannoch, our Highland bull, was quick to charge the fence --- and, to our amazement, he actually broke through. There were five of us there at the time, including our veterinarian to do a castration of a young Gloucester bull. What this photograph doesn't show is Zbig and Gregorz running around yelling --- and finally actually separating the two bulls before any damage was done.

Merlin -- A bit of Guernsey | Kobe5972 viewsWe recently purchased Carole, a pure-bred Guernsey cow, as our "house cow." The farmers who sold us Carole are getting out of the dairy business, so their bull, Merlin, was set to go to the chop. The Guernsey Cattle Society tells me Guernsey beef is delicious, so Merlin has had a bit of a reprieve. He gets to eat grain and grass and drink beer --- for a year.

Sunapee Harbor - New Hampshire4014 viewsWe took the dogs for a Memorial Day drive. In the middle of the countryside we saw a small sign pointing to Sunapee Harbor. Although miles from the sea, we found this lovely "seaside" New England harbor, complete with a seafood restaurant on the water. Gorgeous.May 28, 2012
