On the Train from Manchester to Birmingham285 زيارةMarjorie and I have seen all those wonderful TV ads about Virgin Trains zipping elegantly through the countryside. We decided to take the train back from Manchester. It was more 1986 British Rail: frayed seats, dirty headrests, indifferent service, inaudible (but frequent) announcements hectoring us to do something-or-other. Useless.

Kiko's Eyes727 زيارةThey say that dogs don't have good eye contact because they think it's a "challenge." Kiko has always had great eye contact, and it's never been in a challenging way. In fact (and is this anthropomorphising?) it seems quite loving and kind.

The mystery, at least to me, is what happened to the person above my father whose face has been scraped away? My mother Shirley is on the lowest step (left) and my father John Walsh on the same step (right). One of my mother's friends from Hawaii, Barbara (Bappy) Pickup, is sitting on the top step. Circa 1948.
