Still, we found this little factory in Switzerland, and bought a new Bolex 16mm movie camera. I think they make them by hand, one at a time.

The restaurant didn't have its name on the door, wasn't in the telephone directory, and the concierge in our hotel had never heard of it. The new Supper Club website looks very swish, but perhaps not as much fun.

Latch on Stable Gatevu 379 foisThis Came electronic latch was installed by Automation Gates in early 2005. The stable gate is exposed to direct wind, and the installers indicated that the wind on the gate was breaking the arm that connected the gate with the motor. At the same time, the motor was replaced with a different --- and presumably better --- motor. The latch meant that when the gate closed it would be supported, against the wind, on both ends. But the latch didn't always engage --- usually because of the wind.

Martley Parish Church cemeteryvu 292 foisOld gravestones are used as a retaining wall for the soil around this tree. I realise that "topple" is a problem with gravestones in British cemeteries, but using old stones as a wall seems a bit unfortunate to me.

Grandfather, Chase, and Marcia - Christmas 1985vu 697 foisFunny, although this picture is almost 20 years old, I can still see Grandfather sitting on that couch, eating cheese and crackers. We still have the leather chair (and the ottoman with Chase's Christmas pony). We moved the couch to England, and sat on it in The Limes. Chase sure looks happy!
