Araucana Rooster and Chicken8085 εμφανίσειςWe put a pig arc in the field for Westbrook. He, of course, prefers to sleep elsewhere -- including the chicken house. So the arc has been taken over by the Araucana chickens.

Marjorie at the Madinat Souk394 εμφανίσειςOur hotel had a cross between a modern shopping mall and an Arab traditional souk. Naturally, we had to go shopping. Marjorie stood still long enough at the entrance for me to take her photo. And then she was off.

The Tamworth Pigs Showing Off602 εμφανίσειςWe moved the wild pigs into the next paddock -- to help us churn it up before planting grass in the spring. The Tamworth males ran up and down the fence, with the wild boar on the other side. The chickens and alpacas weren't impressed by this show of piggy macho.

Whitecroft Lawn - Spring 1991218 εμφανίσειςWe hired Corscadden Associates, a firm of landscape architects in Wales, to improve the undulations in our lawn, and to make our pond more visible from the house. They did a detailed specification, obtained bids, and recommended the low bidder. Unfortunately, the low bidder's plan was to simply scrape away all of our topsoil and plant turf on the clay. The turf all drowned, and we had another firm do the replacement --- paid for by Corscadden's professional indemnity insurance. This is the original work, with the front of Whitecroft (and well) on the left.

The Top of our Leylandii Hedge -- Ready for the Bonfire357 εμφανίσειςPaul Doyle and team trimmed the top off one of our leylandii hedges, bringing much more light into our front garden. Coincidentally, we've been asked to build a large bonfire for a photo shoot. Here's the "cuttings" waiting to be moved from our track to the site of the bonfire.
