"Spooky" Alice and Her Calf287 x angesehen"Spooky" Alice is our only Highland cow minus her horns. Our former stockmen wouldn't handle her as they felt she was too dangerous, so the compromise was to keep her (instead of kill her) but minus her horns. Alice and her calf have now moved to a new home in Wales.

Aw, cute548 x angesehenThe latest batch of Berkshire piglets had trouble feeding; either their mother wasn't bothered or her previous litter were pushing the little ones out of the way. Fortunately, we have two veterinary students working here for the summer so they have been hand rearing the littlies. Sadly, we lost 3 but the other 3 are doing well.

These were removed, and the new turf planted directly on the clay --- whereupon it drowned. This work was specified and overseen by Corscadden Associates, a firm of landscape architects who should have known better. Their PI insurance paid for the re-do.
