Repairing the Non-Return Valve - Whitecroft Trackvu 289 foisWe had problems on Friday and Saturday because, without notice, Severn Trent needed to replace the non-return sewer valve. Apparently they couldn't inspect it in March because they couldn't open the manhole cover. But nothing was done, until our neighbour's house flooded with sewage. Looks like this guy got the manhole cover open! July 29 2005

Dave the Dog - His Cake as It Arrivedvu 372 foisHere's the "after" picture of Dave the Dog's birthday cake, courtesy of DHL. We attached the cake to the cake board, attached the cake board to the cake box, attached the cake box to the inner box (shown). The inner box was then packed in an outer box, and the space between the two filled with crumpled newspaper. But DHL clearly gave the box a good toss around the depot, despite the "fragile - dog cake" labels on the outside.
