Garden Path at Kealaolu Avenue, Kahala454 x bekekenNana and my mother, Shirley, examining the flowers on the garden path at Kealaolu Avenue in Kahala. My guess is this is from the mid 1940's. Nana and Baba sold their Kealaolu Avenue house circa 1947, and felt they had enough money to move into a hotel for the rest of their lives. And that's what they did: they moved into the Niumalu Hotel, on the site of the present Hilton Hawaiian Village. That lasted about a year.

The Canal Path745 x bekekenA bit overgrown along what I call "the canal path," so this photo doesn't really show the water. We had to put the temporary wire fence in (left of photograph) as the dogs kept going into the water and duck weed. I took this photo to show the garden centre our empty trellis on the right. We've had honeysuckle there (yuck), and roses that haven't grown well. Marjorie wants a purple flower we've seen in our rambling.

Belinda With Her Piglet/Calf Going In For A Drink323 x bekekenJoseph, the Berkshire pig, does try to suckle Belinda. But she's heavily pregnant, and we stopped hand milking her several weeks ago. So there isn't really any milk there. Once her calf is born will she reject Joseph?
