Nevsky Prospect - St. PetersburgПросмотров: 4667To cross the street in either direction on Nevsky Prospect -- one of the main streets in St. Petersburg -- you need to go into this pedestrian underpass. When we did so, on a bright spring afternoon (our wedding anniversary), my camera was stolen. I'd just entered the underpass, and as my eyes adjusted to the gloom someone bumped into me quite hard, and I knew my camera was gone when my left shoulder suddenly didn't feel the weight. But there was a crowd, and no obvious villan.

New Lord's Wood GateПросмотров: 410Some neighbours objected to our green burial planning application because they thought --- incorrectly --- that Lord's Wood was some sort of community "amenity." It is, in fact, our private property, and contains no public footpaths. To demonstrate this, we have reluctantly put up an electric fence and gate at the entrance.

Shall We Dance? Alpaca ShearingПросмотров: 371These two gentlemen, from New Zealand, spend a couple of months touring the U.K. and shearing circa 4,000 alpacas. Our three are old men and their fleece isn't of particularly good quality. But we have them sheared because it's healthier for the alpacas.
