Magnolia Blossom - Whitecroft341 zobrazeníI love Magnolias. Great, huge, pure white flowers. It's a shame that they seem to fall apart so quickly, so it's hard to bring them in the house for a big floral display. (Unless there's some secret that only Southern belles learn, while drinking juleps.) This magnolia bud is in our large tree, Whitecroft, on a hot summer afternoon.

Hobart taro peeler555 zobrazeníWhenever I see or even think of this taro peeler, I can't help but remember Francisco hunched over it with the taro. He'd open the little hatch door on the side, and filthy water loaded with bits of taro and dirt would go flying all over the ladies in the peeling room. This would happen dozens of times each day, but the ladies never seemed to mind.

We decided to take the train back from Manchester. It was more 1986 British Rail: frayed seats, dirty headrests, indifferent service, inaudible (but frequent) announcements hectoring us to do something-or-other. Useless.
