Marjorie always wanted to visit St. Petersburg, Russia. What a beautiful place - but our trip was marred by having my camera stolen on one day on the main shopping street, and my wallet the next.

We sold our antique (circa 1944) Mark V hard hat diving helmet, made by DESCO, on eBay in July 2008. Here are the photographs we took of the helmet for our eBay listing.

Photokina 2008

photokina is the world's largest photographic trade fair, held every two years in Cologne. This was Marjorie's and my 5th visit to photokina. We also drove to the German state of Hesse (Hessen) to visit the hometowns of the Schoenhals, my maternal great-great-grandmother.

Adam and Eve Hotel - Belek Turkey

In June 2009 Craig and Marjorie spent a week at the Adam and Eve Hotel in Belek, Turkey. The hotel is a pre-fab building where they've covered every interior wall with mirrors, and the outside walls with Astroturf.

Hey, it's still food527 katseluaWe returned from a trip to celebrate the New Year for 1998 to find that the right side of Pau's face had sunk in. After tests it was determined that he had a tumour. We had it removed but it meant that for a while he couldn't eat solid food so I used to make sloppy polenta for him. You could always tell where Pau had been - follow the yellow polenta trail!!

The Orchid House4782 katseluaIt's a cold autumn day outdoors, but in the Whitecroft orchid house it's always summer. That's our indoor (outdoor?) shower on the right, with a shower head like the Savoy Hotel. The shower head is currently holding our insect-eating plant: Emilia has taken great care of it, and it's becoming the Triffid.
