Whitecroft Lawn - Spring 1991vista 218 vecesWe hired Corscadden Associates, a firm of landscape architects in Wales, to improve the undulations in our lawn, and to make our pond more visible from the house. They did a detailed specification, obtained bids, and recommended the low bidder. Unfortunately, the low bidder's plan was to simply scrape away all of our topsoil and plant turf on the clay. The turf all drowned, and we had another firm do the replacement --- paid for by Corscadden's professional indemnity insurance. This is the original work, with the front of Whitecroft (and well) on the left.

My Steak Sandwich at "It's All About Me" - Ironbridgevista 893 vecesWe stopped in Ironbridge to have lunch. The name of this restaurant caught our attention, and it had a gorgeous sunny terrace overlooking the Severn. We ordered steak sandwiches. This is mine --- the largely uncooked fat was on the side of the steak. I couldn't bite through the steak because of this large streak of fat. When we asked to have the meals re-cooked, we were told our re-orders would be put in the queue behind other diners. We left.
