A Highland Cow Having a Swig of Beer288 x angesehenOur beef cattle are raised in the traditional Kobe style -- they are fed beer and grain. Normally, they don't like the "fizz" in the beer, so prefer it if we pour it over the grain and let it sit for a few hours. But this was a hot spring day, and this cow quite enjoyed the cold beer right from the bottle.

Marjorie at the Hotel Metropole, Hanoi313 x angesehenHanoi hadn't welcomed many tourists when we visited. We had reservations at another hotel -- built by Cubans -- and it was awful. We learned that the Hotel Metropole had just been refurbished and it was day one of its "soft" opening. We were there in a flash. Even in Hanoi Marjorie managed to fill a shopping bag.

A Fig318 x angesehenNothing tastes better than a fresh fig. We have six fig trees at Whitecroft, and when the summer is warm and dry the figs are wonderful. When it's damp, we think about moving to somewhere warm.

Cole337 x angesehenCole found this old moss-encrusted ball under a bush in the garden, and it became the most wondeful thing in the world to him. He kept it safely between his front paws --- until, after about ten minutes, Otis came and took it away from him. But Cole didn't seem to mind at all.
