Whitecroft Decking762 x angesehenThird time lucky? The first deck was built of teak and painted with special marine deck paint. It was incredibly slippery. The second deck was built of soft wood and stained, but the paint kept peeling off (you can see the latest coat on the right hand side -- the grey paint applied in 2003). The new decking is guaranteed for 25 years. Installed in August 2005, so we have until August 2030. I will be 81.29. August 2005

Scary Photo -- Really Scary799 x angesehenI hadn't shaved in a while, so had a big white beard --- but my moustache stayed black and swarthy. I decided to keep the Tom Sellick look, but (fortunately) Marjorie was having none of it. My swarthy moustache was gone a minute later. I'm surprised how much I look like my father --- even down to his droopy eyelids and uneven eyes. Poor Shauna has the same problem. Strabismus in the genes!25. August 2005

Marjorie and Richard Chamings669 x angesehenRichard was coming to try to sedate our new wild boar, and operate on his prolapse. What a way to spend a sunny summer afternoon.21. August 2005

The "Back" Garden620 x angesehenOne of our doggie ball-playing areas. The bench is where Pau and Kea are buried. I feel their presence whenever I'm out there.21. August 2005

Chasing the Ducks688 x angesehenThe ducks can paddle much, much faster than our little electric paddle boat.21. August 2005

Kea and Pau's Bench1087 x angesehenWe've just had Pau's inscription added. The main inscription reads, "All knowledge, the totality of all questions and answers, is contained in the dog."21. August 2005

A Summer Afternoon on the Lake620 x angesehenOkay, more of a pond. But at least our paddle boat has an electric engine.21. August 2005

Marjorie in Her Office Window584 x angesehenMe shouting from below, "When's lunch??" Do you think we have enough wires in the back of our computer server?21. August 2005

Magnolia With Flying Insect700 x angesehenI love magnolias. The only problem is that these huge flowers seem to fall apart: in doing so they avoid being cut from the tree and put in a vase. Wonderful big petals, and a great smell that, at least in this case, attracted a small flying insect of some sort.17. August 2005

Marjorie Playing With The Dogs575 x angesehenGetting ready to toss the red barbell to Woody.17. August 2005

Sleeping Kiko1098 x angesehenWe seem to have many pictures of sleeping bull terriers --- it gives the false impression that all they do is sleep. Took this photo at about 3:00 AM this morning. Kiko asleep on the couch, with his head resting comfortably on a cushion.13. August 2005
