With it all rolled up nicely into bundles, Marjorie, Tapa, and I went to have a look at the big rolls at sunset. Whitecroft is just visible in the trees.%367 %05, %2005

The Tewkesbury Ferry742 زيارةThe other day, when coming home on the M50, I spotted a sign to the ferry. The ferry? Today we went to have a look, and there really is a ferry that runs several times a day from this beautiful spot on the River Avon (actually near the motorway) to Tewkesbury. Repairing the Non-Return Valve - Whitecroft Track755 زيارةWe had problems on Friday and Saturday because, without notice, Severn Trent needed to replace the non-return sewer valve. Apparently they couldn't inspect it in March because they couldn't open the manhole cover. But nothing was done, until our neighbour's house flooded with sewage. Looks like this guy got the manhole cover open! July 29 2005%374 %31, %2005

Yellow-Jacket Wasp721 زيارةWe seem to have a wasps' next in the ground next to Kea's and Pau's bench. I took about a dozen photos --- this is the only one where the wasp is in focus. There's actually a guide on the internet to tell you what the markings mean. I think they mean "nasty -- avoid." Apparently you can freeze the nest, or pour boiling water down the opening.
