Nana, Baba, and the Silversword1567 viewsThe only thing I know about this photograph of Nana and Baba is that it was taken at the top of Haleakala on Maui: that's the only place where silversword grows. There are other pictures in the same series featuring people I don't know. All seem to have the same logo on their caps. I tried zooming in on it, but couldn't make out what it was. Circa 1947 or so.

Hey, it's still food427 viewsWe returned from a trip to celebrate the New Year for 1998 to find that the right side of Pau's face had sunk in. After tests it was determined that he had a tumour. We had it removed but it meant that for a while he couldn't eat solid food so I used to make sloppy polenta for him. You could always tell where Pau had been - follow the yellow polenta trail!!
