Spring Morning on the Whitecroft "Canal"727 mol gekuckt ginnUp early in the morning (unusual for me) to check on the newly arrived Bronze turkeys. I spotted these yellow flowers on the banks of the small Whitecroft "canal." It's spring.

Magnolias - Whitecroft773 mol gekuckt ginnI love magnolias, especially the big white ones you find all over the place in the U.S. south --- "grandaflora" I think they're called. This year the "English" magnolias have been gorgeous. I don't know if this is because of our hot summer in 2003. Whatever the reason, they're beautiful.

Marjorie and the Black Rocks1324 mol gekuckt ginnGood Friday morning, 2004. The Black Rocks are always pleased with the kitchen scraps that Marjorie brings them each morning.

Pigs in a Line691 mol gekuckt ginnGood Friday morning, 2004. The pigs are in a nice chorus line, from left to right: the "original" Kune Kune, the Kune - Gloucester Old Spot cross (how did that happen?), the sinister Iron Age pig (now quite an elderly lady), and the Sinister - GOS cross.

Whitecroft - Spring Afternoon675 mol gekuckt ginnApril 25, 2004 -- Gorgeous Spring Sunday -- Marjorie and I spent the day reading the papers, etc., out on the lanai. (Actually, I read the papers while Marjorie tossed Kiko's ball.) Kevin mowed the front lawn on Friday afternoon, so took this photograph with the Cone Noses.

The Canal Path1066 mol gekuckt ginnA bit overgrown along what I call "the canal path," so this photo doesn't really show the water. We had to put the temporary wire fence in (left of photograph) as the dogs kept going into the water and duck weed. I took this photo to show the garden centre our empty trellis on the right. We've had honeysuckle there (yuck), and roses that haven't grown well. Marjorie wants a purple flower we've seen in our rambling.

Artichoke and Mint700 mol gekuckt ginnWe got lost one day going to Coventry (or somepleace awful) and we found the National Herb Centre. They had the most wonderful, big, silver-green plants that turned out to be artichoke plants. Ours didn't grow anywhere as large, yet. But fresh artichokes from the garden are great. We've surrounded the little artichoke plant with mint. Whitecroft, on a warm Spring day in April, 2004.

Michaelmas Daisies - Whitecroft Garden602 mol gekuckt ginnI'd never even heard of a Michaelmas Daisy until I spotted a road sign in Malvern one day pointing to the National Michaelmas Daisy Collection. We actually paid a visit and discovered that these daisies bloom in the autumn. And, to our surprise, we have Michaelmas daisies in our garden. Here are some just outside our front lounge, blooming in October.

Winter Morning - Maggot's Croft826 mol gekuckt ginnThe field behind our house is called Maggot's Croft (it clearly came with that name --- not something we thought up). It was once an apple orchard, and these old trees are left from those days. Taken by Marjorie on a cold winter morning, December 28 2004.

Maggot's Croft - Snow Sky761 mol gekuckt ginnFebruary 20 2005. The weather folks have been warning us about the snow storm that's coming for the past few days. It seems to always be coming tomorrow. This was taken at about 4:30 PM on Sunday afternoon, and it was cold outside. A snow sky? We'll see.
