In Bed at 140 Dowsett AvenueПереглядів: 1379Me (on the left), Shauna (the baby), and Nana. My guess is late 1955. This isn't the best photograph -- no faces showing. I've included it anyway because I thought the bedside table is interesting. I love the old dial telephone, the 1950's shoji lamps. But my favourite thing is the bottle of lager and cigarettes. I never remember my grandmother drinking --- but larger! How images can be shattered through the magnification power of Adobe Photoshop.

Petra, Jordan -- Sand For SaleПереглядів: 261When I was playing around with this photo using Photoshop, I enlarged the lower left-hand corner where two gentlemen seem to be doing something. I had a good laugh when I could read the hand-lettered sign in the corner: "Petra Sand For Sale."

Marjorie Outside The Toffee Shop in PenrithПереглядів: 181I found their fudge (which is actually Scottish tablet) at a little gourmet grocery store in Cirencester a few years ago. We've bought their fudge at Fortnum & Mason and even Lakeland since then. As we were near Penrith, we thought we'd stop in and buy some fresh fudge and toffee. You can also order via their website.

Marjorie in AostaПереглядів: 254We went up into the Vale of Aosta on our way back to Malpensa Airport in Milan. Marjorie saw some cute pyjamas in this store window, so I took her picture window-shopping. (The store was, of course, closed for three hours for lunch.)

Marjorie at the Hotel Metropole, HanoiПереглядів: 254Hanoi hadn't welcomed many tourists when we visited. We had reservations at another hotel -- built by Cubans -- and it was awful. We learned that the Hotel Metropole had just been refurbished and it was day one of its "soft" opening. We were there in a flash. Even in Hanoi Marjorie managed to fill a shopping bag.

Craig in the Harrods Coffee ShopПереглядів: 121A rather bleary-eyed photo of me, taken in a small Harrods coffee shop, up a small set of stairs above the produce section. Marjorie and I were experimenting with my small camera phone.

A Large, Concrete WalnutПереглядів: 115At the Daylesford Organic Farm Shop near Kingham. There were several of these large concrete walnuts beneath --- I guess --- a walnut tree.
