Grandfather, Chase, and Marcia - Christmas 1985602 viewsFunny, although this picture is almost 20 years old, I can still see Grandfather sitting on that couch, eating cheese and crackers. We still have the leather chair (and the ottoman with Chase's Christmas pony). We moved the couch to England, and sat on it in The Limes. Chase sure looks happy!

Cooked Picanha Steak4299 viewsWe did not cut this when it was on the grill -- this kept the juices inside. When we cut it, hot, on the cutting board, the delicious melted Kobe fat just poured out. Delicious with a simple salad.

Close-Up of Cooked Picanha Steak6925 viewsShowing the fine marble of fat, and the grain. This meat was virtually fork-tender, and loaded with juices from the melted Kobe fat.

Picanha Steaks on the Grill855 viewsIt's important not to pierce or cut them when they're cooking --- that will keep in the majority of the jucies. The fat in grain-fed beef (and ours is certainly grain-fed) melts at a lower temperature than the fat in grass-fed beef. One food critic described Kobe beef as "self-basting." These steaks were delicious!
John-Woody-Walsh.jpg
Grandfather (John "Woody" Walsh) Having An Ice Cream220 viewsGrandfather had a stroke in 1987. This photograph was taken at an outdoor fair at The Lawns nursing home in Kempsey, where he was living at the time. It was a sunny day, and we all had ice cream cones. We entered Kea, our bull terrier, in the waggy tail contest.
Hattie-Worc-News.jpg
Worcester Evening News - 26 August 2006260 viewsThe local newspaper picked up on the Hattie story when doing an article (never published) about our neighbour's claim that the dog resort was too loud. (Noise monitoring equipment installed by the Council did not show any noise offences.) This small story talks about Hattie's five week visit to Lucies Farm, the subject of an upcoming "It's Me Or The Dog" programme.
