Marjorie in Aquaba, Jordanvista 464 vecesFor my 40th Birthday, Marjorie gave me a trip to Jordan -- on the Concorde (May 1989). We flew to Aqaba, on the Red Sea, and then took a bus to the carved city of Petra. This photo was taken by the pool of our hotel near Petra.

Marjorie in the City of Petra, Jordan - 1989vista 245 vecesThe city of Petra grew rich from the spice trade. During the late Hellenistic and Imperial period local worthies engaged in what seems to us now a fantastic orgy of construction, carving Greco-Roman faades from the living rock. Marjorie stands near a few stone pillars.

Craig and Marjorie By The Hotel Pool, Petravista 287 vecesIt was very hot at Petra (100 degrees+), so we enjoyed a dip in the hotel pool near Petra, in Jordan. I'm glad to see that I was flying the corporate Transax colours.

Petra, Jordan -- Sand For Salevista 261 vecesWhen I was playing around with this photo using Photoshop, I enlarged the lower left-hand corner where two gentlemen seem to be doing something. I had a good laugh when I could read the hand-lettered sign in the corner: "Petra Sand For Sale."

Spice Heading Up the PetRampvista 610 vecesThe PetRamp provides gentle access into, and out of, the swimming pool. It's non-skid surface is perfect for dogs, and they're happy walking down it, and up it.

Underwater View of the Pet Rampvista 491 vecesThis is a solid ramp, with a grooved non-skid surface. The sturdy metal legs hold it down to the pool bottom. The bottom of the ramp is deeper than the dog's feet when the dog starts to swim. The pool is only 4.5 deep, with a level bottom throughout.
Max-pool.jpg
Max Thinking About The Poolvista 622 vecesYou know when you put a straw in a glass of water it looks like the straw bends? That's because water acts a bit like a magnifying glass and enlarges things. This is a shot of Max and Marjorie at the top of the ramp, with the ramp (looking very large) underwater.

Paul and Dorothy Help Oscar Up The PetRampvista 426 vecesOscar looks a bit tired, but was quite content to be dried off and then have a mooch around the garden.
