Xenon for Torino - Piazza Castello - Jenny Holzeršt. ogledov:1868Torino has a programme called "Luci d'Artista." Jenny Holzer uses powerful Xenon lights to project "her words with the intention of contrasting ignorance and violence with sweetness and moral courage." The English didn't make much sense to Marjorie and me, but the castle was impressive.

Marjorie in the Piazza San Carlošt. ogledov:207The day before the Opening Ceremony of the Olympics. NBC had an outdoor television studio near-by (for the Today Show), hence there was this big TV screen. We had lunch at the Cafe San Carlo -- it was so horrible that we sent it back. The young couple at the table near us, from Malta, had the same problem. When in Torino, avoid the Cafe San Carlo!

The Path to the Ticket Booth, Stadio Olimpicošt. ogledov:185As incredible as it seems, this was the path to the ticket booth for the opening ceremony of the Torino Winter Olympics. The booth, in a porta-cabin in the Piazza d'Armi, could only be found via a small A4 paper sign, written only in Italian, nailed to a small stake. The Olympic Stadium is only about 50 meters to the right of this photograph. This was taken the day before the opening ceremony.
