Scary Photo -- Really Scary631 kez bakıldıI hadn't shaved in a while, so had a big white beard --- but my moustache stayed black and swarthy. I decided to keep the Tom Sellick look, but (fortunately) Marjorie was having none of it. My swarthy moustache was gone a minute later. I'm surprised how much I look like my father --- even down to his droopy eyelids and uneven eyes. Poor Shauna has the same problem. Strabismus in the genes!

Repairing the Non-Return Valve - Whitecroft Track627 kez bakıldıWe had problems on Friday and Saturday because, without notice, Severn Trent needed to replace the non-return sewer valve. Apparently they couldn't inspect it in March because they couldn't open the manhole cover. But nothing was done, until our neighbour's house flooded with sewage. Looks like this guy got the manhole cover open! July 29 2005

Michaelmas Daisies - Whitecroft Garden626 kez bakıldıI'd never even heard of a Michaelmas Daisy until I spotted a road sign in Malvern one day pointing to the National Michaelmas Daisy Collection. We actually paid a visit and discovered that these daisies bloom in the autumn. And, to our surprise, we have Michaelmas daisies in our garden. Here are some just outside our front lounge, blooming in October.

Japanese maple outside my window: with the long summer days, the sun really shines in during the afternoon, but I don't like to shut the blinds.

Craig Out For A Stroll626 kez bakıldıA preview of things to come? :-( I'd been immobilised for about 14 hours, injected with morphine and other goodies, and "log rolled" from gurney to CAT scan tray. This is my first time up and about, complete with nurse and walker. On the way home, I went "ouch, ouch" when Marjorie even drove over a tiny pebble in the road. I am a true Princess. May 5 2006
