Chasing the Ducks802 viewsThe ducks can paddle much, much faster than our little electric paddle boat.

Marmadukes Luxury Hotel - York802 viewsFor our one night in York, we paid 180 (on a Monday night, in November) to stay at Marmadukes Luxury Hotel. We thought it was awful. Here's a photo of the only TV in the room, with a screen smaller than my laptop. And you had to sit in this low, stiff Victorian chair to watch TV. It was truly awful.

Part of the very, very loooooooooong walk to the M & S801 viewsWe were told, by the signs on the M1 Southbound, that there was an M&S at Trowell. Well liar, liar, pants on fire. The M&S was on the other side of the motorway, and there were no lifts on either side. It was an unbearably painful walk, complete with buckets and leaks.

My Desk - Whitecroft800 viewsThis is one of those pictures in a picture kind of picture. Here's my cluttered desk, with me working on (what else?) this photo gallery. Japanese maple outside my window: with the long summer days, the sun really shines in during the afternoon, but I don't like to shut the blinds.

Marks and Spencer Cherwell Valley800 viewsThis M&S employee pushed this large cart right in front of us while we were waiting to purchase our cola and sushi. No apologies: it was like we weren't even there. When we asked her if she'd even noticed us, she was rude and officious. At M&S, clearly the wire baskets take priority over the customers. She had no name tag, so I thought I'd snap her photo outside the store. She didn't like that. See: http://www.sucks.org.uk/?p=2

Whitecroft Track, Afternoon of September 24 2006800 viewsWe put a couple of bales of haylage on our track (we had to move them from the stable yard, as we were removing a piece of farm equipment). They haylage does not block our track. I noticed today that our neighbours have a visitor, and the visitor has parked in our track, parallel to our bales of haylage.

Herman Miller Mitta Chair800 viewsThis is the arm rest on my Herman Miller Mitta chair --- less than a year old. Trying to get them to honour their 12 year guarantee (or whatever it is) has been a real challenge. The chair is very comfortable for my bad (broken) back, but not so good from an armrest standpoint.

The New Fence799 viewsAt the back (north) of Maggot's Croft. This fence was installed to close the gap in the hedge. Nigel Roberts from Albion Fencing did a great job, with very little advance notice.
