The Tewkesbury FerryПереглядів: 934The other day, when coming home on the M50, I spotted a sign to the ferry. The ferry? Today we went to have a look, and there really is a ferry that runs several times a day from this beautiful spot on the River Avon (actually near the motorway) to Tewkesbury. That's Bredon Hill in the background.

Just like Peter Andre and JordanПереглядів: 933Ross had this idea after looking at photos of Jordan and Peter Andre's house. They put up large tarpaulin to block the view of the paparazzi. We've put up this sheet to block the view from the northern boundary of Maggott's Croft. We've nothing to hide - but we're tired of some neighbours and Council officials spying on us.

The New FenceПереглядів: 933At the back (north) of Maggot's Croft. This fence was installed to close the gap in the hedge. Nigel Roberts from Albion Fencing did a great job, with very little advance notice.

Marjorie and the Coffee CupПереглядів: 932The latte machine at the Little Chef at the Cherwell Valley motorway stop was broken, so Marjorie fetched a latte from the cafe stand. She almost needed a wheelbarrow to get it to the table.

Magnolia Blossom - WhitecroftПереглядів: 932I love Magnolias. Great, huge, pure white flowers. It's a shame that they seem to fall apart so quickly, so it's hard to bring them in the house for a big floral display. (Unless there's some secret that only Southern belles learn, while drinking juleps.) This magnolia bud is in our large tree, Whitecroft, on a hot summer afternoon.

Marmadukes Luxury Hotel - YorkПереглядів: 931For our one night in York, we paid �180 (on a Monday night, in November) to stay at Marmadukes Luxury Hotel. We thought it was awful. Here's a photo of the only TV in the room, with a screen smaller than my laptop. And you had to sit in this low, stiff Victorian chair to watch TV. It was truly awful.
