New Transax Offices in Tricorn House, Edgbaston, Birmingham6007 viewsThis was photographed in the autumn of 1987. We'd just rented offices on the 9th floor of Tricorn House in Edgbaston, and set about decorating them ourselves. Chris Wilesmith has the paint roller, while Peter French is looking for something. The room in the foreground became the authorisation centre, and the staff break room was behind the partition.

Sergio in the New Authorisation Room3763 viewsThe offices of Transax SpA in Trezzano, just outside of Milan, Italy. This was the start of the new authorisation centre. In the end, the Italian operation lost 500,000 before we said "enough" and pulled the plug.

Duilio Trinca and Sergio in Portofino, Italy2004 viewsMarjorie and I were on our Mediterranean cruise (holiday!). We were also in the process of starting Transax SpA in Italy (bad move). Duilio and Sergio drove to Portofino to have lunch with us on our port stop. I've enlarged the photo to see what paperwork they're holding --- it's an application for a Corporate American Express Card. A lasting memory of Duilio and Sergio --- in a restaurant, with a food cart and credit card application.

Transax Christmas Photo - 19871354 viewsWe'd just moved into Tricorn House in Edgbaston. We still had the funny old Warwick Systems VDU's. We decorated the offices on the 9th floor with the tacky Christmas tinsel, and took this picture of exhausted authorisers (in fact, pretty much everybody) on Christmas Eve 1987.1 comments

Transax SPA offices near Milan893 viewsOffices in Trezzano sul Naviglio. How could these few people lose so much money so quickly?

El Figon de Juan -- and Transax861 viewsWe used a company that specialised in employee motivation and incentive travel -- Maritz --- to assist us with our second sales conference at Transax. Maritz sent us to Marbella, Spain. One of the activities was a "rally," where we divided into teams, each in a small jeep-like thing. The goal was this lunch spot. Doesn't that restaurant sign look inviting? Hmmm.

Chris Wilesmith Painting794 viewsThe Transax move into Tricorn House, circa October 1987. We did all of the "decorating," if you could call it that, ourselves. This glass-walled area was the break room. Chris Wilesmith with the paint roller, John Gregory on the floor.

Marjorie and Me in Paris, at the Transax SNC Offices711 viewsWhat's with the strange "high water" pants that I'm wearing? And doesn't the weather in Paris look wonderful? Not exactly the Paris of Gigi.
