Fairoaks Mermaid and Marjorie3851 katseluaFairoaks Mermaid has just given birth to ten piglets. I took this photograph from the door of her pig ark. Marjorie is looking in the little hatch, and from Marjorie's viewpoint you can see the piglets. Mother was calm and considerate throughout. For those who think pigs are dirty, look at how she gleams, and look at how clean she keeps her home.

The Kune Kune Princess3850 katseluaChase's pig -- a cross between a Kune Kune (hence the wattles) and a Gloucester Old Spot (hence the spots). Not the prettiest pig in the patch, but to the enthusiastic young Berkshire boar, seen part way up her back, she's the personification of pulchritude.

Westbrook Settles In3711 katseluaWe picked up Westbrook Peter Lad 1st on May 18, 2005. It was his birthday --- he's 11 weeks old. We had an uneventful ride down from his original home in Little Hereford, and he's settled in nicely. We have him in a large stable until he grows a bit larger and can be put out with the bigger pigs.

The Swimming Tamworth3702 katseluaOnce we got him in the pool, there was no stopping him. He's a strong swimmer, and he raced around the edge of the pool like an Olympic athlete.

Underwater Pig3611 katseluaTo take the swimming Tamworth pig photo, the pig had to be gently pushed into the heated pool. Marjorie, in full SCUBA gear and with an underwater camera and strobe, waited for the pig to, er, fall. I was surprised at how quickly the pig sank. He then soared to the surface, like a submarine in a Sean Connery movie that's blown its ballast.

Marjorie and the Tamworth Lady3602 katseluaMarjorie has shown great wisdom and has worn white trousers out to visit the piggy wiggy. Naturally, the pig's reaction was to coat her nose with mud and then want to show Marjorie how much she is loved. Kissy, kissy . . .
