We learned that the Hotel Metropole had just been refurbished and it was day one of its "soft" opening. We were there in a flash. Even in Hanoi Marjorie managed to fill a shopping bag.

Marjorie's Corvette in Bruge680 kez bakıldıWe thought it would be fun to drive the new Corvette to Switzerland to pick up a new Bolex movie camera. We spent the night in Brugge (Belgium), the "Venice of the North." We parked the car along side one of the canals, in front of our hotel.

The Concorde in Aquaba, Jordan680 kez bakıldıFor my 40th Birthday (1989), Marjorie gave me a trip to Jordan on the Concorde. We started in Aquaba, with an overnight visit to Petra, and then took Concorde to Amman. While there, we went to the Dead Sea, and also road on an old Turkish steam railroad and had a picnic in the desert.

This is just a small part of an otherwise boring picture, mostly showing unattractive rocks and an unremarkable cove. But these people look so happy.

Dan Quayle (the former VP of the United States) stood still, and we were paraded in to have our photos taken. Once the shutter was clicked, he shook our hands while --- at the same time --- pulling us out of the picture so the next folks could slot in.
