During the late Hellenistic and Imperial period local worthies engaged in what seems to us now a fantastic orgy of construction, carving Greco-Roman fa�ades from the living rock. Marjorie stands near a few stone pillars.

Ho Chi Minh City "Museum of War Remnants" with a Helicopter843 x bekekenFrom the New York Times of July 1999: "The city's Museum of War Remnants, with its displays of captured weapons and its catalog of horrors, only recently amended its name, with changing times, from the Museum of American War Crimes." We were there before it changed its name. Our guide didn't want to take us, and felt very awkward about it all.

The Concorde in Aquaba, Jordan841 x bekekenFor my 40th Birthday (1989), Marjorie gave me a trip to Jordan on the Concorde. We started in Aquaba, with an overnight visit to Petra, and then took Concorde to Amman. While there, we went to the Dead Sea, and also road on an old Turkish steam railroad and had a picnic in the desert.

The Laurels on Selma Avenue - Hollywood836 x bekekenWhen Marcia and I were first married (1971) we lived at The Laurels at 8017 Selma Avenue in Hollywood --- at the time near Schwab's Pharmacy on Sunset Boulevard. Our apartment was in the upper right hand corner of this California pink building. When we drove by it in 2001 --- some 30 years later --- nothing had changed.

Cathy Bushby Dancing (I Think) at The Supper Club835 x bekekenThe Supper Club was a strange restaurant where you ate dinner on a large bed. According to their website, it was "the brainchild of a group of artists, libertines, and other creative souls." When I went to the restroom there were two, as you'd expect. But the two were labeled "Heterosexual" and "Homosexual."
