Birchfields 1431 viewsThe ten acre field at Birchfields, with the crush and small "management" pen in the foreground. We planted all of the trees --- on the left and right --- after we purchased Birchfields. The green "grass" is actually weeds: we are in the process of renewing the grass, and these weeds need to be sprayed off before the grass is planted.

Waterlogged Field with Wild Boar431 viewsThe recent heavy rains were too much for the land drains in this field. (On the day this photo was taken -- January 13 2008 -- the River Severn, just down the road from us, flooded over its banks into parts of the City of Worcester.)

Old Whitecroft Kitchen -- Chase and Marjorie430 viewsGosh, I barely remember when the kitchen looked like this. The black metal (and cane) chairs came from Hawaii. I think Marjorie was trying to prove that she could b taller than Chase -- if she stood on a chair.

Sewage Outfall -- Woodman's Cottage430 viewsThis is raw sewage, and it's coming into the ditch on our track -- our access to Lord's Wood. We have called this to the attention of the Malvern Hills District Council, and they have called it to the attention of the owner of Woodman's Cottage. But here, on the evening of September 19, 2005, it still pours. Fortunately, we can safely walk on the other side of the track.
