Our guys cleared out the brambles on our side of the fence, and it's now clear that the old fence (in the centre of the hedge at the left) then does a right-hand turn (the two posts in the middle of this photograph), and turns right again. The fence on the right was installed sometime after May 13 2004, when the materials were purchased by Hawkins' men. The fence in the middle was put up, we think between June 2002 and May 2004.

Photographs of Screws from Top Hinges856 x angesehenThese screws were removed from the top hinges: they connect the hinge to the large gate posts. The screw on the left is from the southern gate post, and measures 1 3/8 inch. The screw on the right is from the northern gate post, and measures 3 1/2 inches. I showed this photograph to Marjorie thinking she'd be surprised. She said that the screws on the right (northern) gate all started to pop out, so Nigel replaced them on the day he came to pick up his cheque.
