Marjorie's New Polo Shirtšt. ogledov:7464We had a young Polish lady --- Agnes --- help us on the farm. She left one of Marjorie's Polo shirts to soak overnight --- but apparently soaked it in acid. She came to us from a recruitment agency, Claire Meade Ltd. They described her as "house proud." We didn't pay their fee.

Panoramic Image of the Bridge Between Wake and Peale Islandsšt. ogledov:6857As best I can tell from the map of Wake Island this is the bridge between Wake Island and Peale Island. The water beneath leads into the lagoon. It appears that the bridge is under construction. I think this photo --- actually two slides stitched together --- is circa 1953.

Kiko, Mud, And His Ballšt. ogledov:6726Here's Kiko, fresh out of the muddy stream. Even though he had to put his entire Bull Terrier head under the muddy water, he managed to retrieve his blue ball.

Unblinking Eye -- Cao Dai Temple, Viet Namšt. ogledov:6276The unblinking eye is the symbol of the Cao Dai faith, founded in 1926 in Viet Nam. "Cao Dai venerates a host of different figures including Victor Hugo, Sun Yat Sen, and Trangh Trinh, a 16th century Vietnamese poet and philosopher. Its ethics are based in the belief in the reincarnation of the soul." There are 7 to 8 million adherents, mostly in Viet Nam.
