The Concorde in Aquaba, Jordan934 x angesehenFor my 40th Birthday (1989), Marjorie gave me a trip to Jordan on the Concorde. We started in Aquaba, with an overnight visit to Petra, and then took Concorde to Amman. While there, we went to the Dead Sea, and also road on an old Turkish steam railroad and had a picnic in the desert.

During the late Hellenistic and Imperial period local worthies engaged in what seems to us now a fantastic orgy of construction, carving Greco-Roman fa�ades from the living rock. Marjorie stands near a few stone pillars.

The fig tree is growing well --- our theory is that it's near the flue from the boiler, and also the kitchen extractor fan. The fig tree is in its own "micro-climate" that is hopefully a bit more like the Med than like Malvern.
