The New FenceПереглядів: 613At the back (north) of Maggot's Croft. This fence was installed to close the gap in the hedge. Nigel Roberts from Albion Fencing did a great job, with very little advance notice.

Path by the Duckweed PondПереглядів: 612Pretty flowers growing in the path by the duckweed pond. Kiko loves to toss his ball into the duckweed, and then try (always unsuccessfully) to retrieve it.

Olympic Ski Slopes -- SestiereПереглядів: 612The ski slopes looked gorgeous, the seating stands looked enormous, but we were on our way to the luge in Cesana Pariol.

A FigПереглядів: 612Nothing tastes better than a fresh fig. We have six fig trees at Whitecroft, and when the summer is warm and dry the figs are wonderful. When it's damp, we think about moving to somewhere warm.

Repairing the Non-Return Valve - Whitecroft TrackПереглядів: 611We had problems on Friday and Saturday because, without notice, Severn Trent needed to replace the non-return sewer valve. Apparently they couldn't inspect it in March because they couldn't open the manhole cover. But nothing was done, until our neighbour's house flooded with sewage. Looks like this guy got the manhole cover open! July 29 2005

WMF Gondolier CentrepieceПереглядів: 611I am told it's quite unusual to have the original glass bowl with this piece. The bowl is quite delicate, and a strange shape --- and it has lasted (with just a few chips on the edges) for over 100 years. And at least two trips across the Atlantic. We purchased this piece in Buenos Aires.
