The Path to the Ticket Booth, Stadio Olimpico205 viewsAs incredible as it seems, this was the path to the ticket booth for the opening ceremony of the Torino Winter Olympics. The booth, in a porta-cabin in the Piazza d'Armi, could only be found via a small A4 paper sign, written only in Italian, nailed to a small stake. The Olympic Stadium is only about 50 meters to the right of this photograph. This was taken the day before the opening ceremony.

Pool and Back Garden at Whitecroft230 viewsWe've had the pool liner replaced, again. Haven't actually put a toe in the outside pool since 1996 or so. It's been quite a chore to get it clean --- lots of ugly algae and other things. Looks like we'll have it ready --- in time for autumn.

Sunapee Harbor - New Hampshire4053 viewsWe took the dogs for a Memorial Day drive. In the middle of the countryside we saw a small sign pointing to Sunapee Harbor. Although miles from the sea, we found this lovely "seaside" New England harbor, complete with a seafood restaurant on the water. Gorgeous.May 28, 2012
