The Six PearsПереглядів: 294We bought these six pears from Solstice in London. They're from France, and the tips of the stems have been sealed with red wax. But the pears looked a bit beat up when they arrived (I took this photograph shortly after we opened the box). They taste great --- but I'm not overly fond of all the cuts and bruises.Немає коментарів: 1

Replacement "Red Wax" Pears from Solstice in LondonПереглядів: 154These are the replacement pears sent to us by Solstice --- they don't look much better than the original "Red Wax" pears. They were virtually inedible --- fell apart in a matter of a day. After a delay, Solstice refunded the purchase price.

An Expensive "Red Wax" Pear from SolsticeПереглядів: 120This is actually a replacment for earlier damaged pears. This one doesn't look much better. This is just how it arrived, by courier, at our home. Right out of the bubble wrap.

The Alpacas in Maggot's CroftПереглядів: 117Maggot's Croft (great name) was once a pear orchard. There are a few old pear trees left --- the produce inedible pears. Out two alpacas beneath the pear tree blossoms of spring.

Alpaca Beneath A Pear TreeПереглядів: 97The pear tree is in blossom on a warm spring day. At one time the pears grown in this orchard (only a few trees remain) were then made into cider in the old Cider Mill at the base of our driveway.
